Scanner Antennas
Introduction
Most scanner purchases do not include a one of the higher gain and quality antennas so it is a good idea to buy something better in order to increase the scanners` quality and most importantly the range. Below are the different Antenna types - where most of them should be mounted outside either on the roof or away from the house.
Which antenna to buy?
The antenna you choose should first of all be capable of receiving transmission between the 25MHz to 1.3gHz range for best performance. This ensures that you wont miss anything on the bands.
Furthermore the antennas should be performing best on the:
* UHF Band (465 to 480MHz)
* VHF Band (70 to 85MHz)
* VHF HI Band (118 to 136MHz)
