Frequently Asked Questions

I have compiled the most frequently asked questions by members. It is important that you read through this page before you contact me. If you email me with the same question, you may not get a response.
The Website

Q: How many people are involved in running/maintaining this website?

A: About 90% of times this site is run by one person only - that is why the updating process can be a little slow at times.

----

Q: Who is this website hosted by?

A: We lost highstream internet as a host. Which is unfortunate but I am very greatful at what they have done for us over the last year. I am hosted on cove now but this is not free anymore. If you like to help out carry the cost, why not make a small donation? You can find the donation link on the right menu bar. I appreciate any help I can get.

Software Purchases

Q: How much does it cost for me to download software?

A: All software made by us is currently free

----

Q: Is the money refundable?

A: Once you have paid and have accessed the downloads section on the forums, the money is not refundable. Please remember that this is considered a "donation".

The Forums

Q: How can I sign up?

A: You can sign up using this link. You will need a valid email addres (which has not been used in this forum before) and a username and password.

----

Q: What rules and other things should I be aware of?

A: The forums should be a place where you have fun and enjoy the interaction with other members. To ensure that no person gets offended or that no laws are broken you need to follow some simple rules. You can review the forum rules before you sign up here.

----

Q: Can I sign up to advertise on your forum? I have a scanner website too I would like to post for other members.

A: Sorry but advertising of any website is not allowed - specially if you just signed up. I tend to relax the rules for users that have been around for long. This is a part of the forum rules:

"Advertising of your own personal scanning website (or any other) is against forum rules. If you want to give members information which you think is important, post the information here with credit from where you got that information."

----

Q: If I dont log in for a long time what happens to my account?

A: This depends what status your account has. If you have posted in the past, you will be able to keep your account for the life of the forums. If you have never posted before, the user account may be removed within a month (sometimes even sooner). You can overcome that by introducing yourself or by being part of the discussions.

Help & Support

Q: Can I email the Administrators to ask for scanner support?

A: No. Any requests for frequencies or scanner support over email will be ignored. The email option should only be taken if you have account problems and cannot access the forums at all.

Any other issues need to be addressed on the forums. I dont want to sound rude but I have better things to do but to chase up manuals etc. Please do your own homework!

----

Q: Can I PM the moderators/Administrators for website/techincal problems?

A: You are discouraged from contacting me directly for technical problems. I am receiving a large volume of private messages and any support request will be ignored from now on.

I have intergrated the forums largely for support purposes and discussions so please make use of that. However, if you have an issue with another member for example - something which cannot be discussed in public, you are welcome to message me directly. You can also use the contact us form on the left hand menu.

The Live Streams

Q: What is the current Stream Availability?

A: We are currently Broadcasting the Government Radio Network of the Greater Sydney Area.

The Content

Q: I found an error in your frequency listing. Who can I contact.

A: Please use the forums to let us know, we correct errors once a month

---

Q: I would like to send you some frequencies. How can I do that?

A: Simply use the forums - the user submission forum would be ideal for that.
